A typical class—which can be taken individually or as a series—consists of a relaxing guided meditation, teachings based on the meditation topic, and final meditation. Weekly classes usually range from 1 hour to 1.5 hours. At in-person classes, you can expect to meet both newcomers and experienced practitioners from a wide range of backgrounds and age ranges. You’re welcomed to sit in a chair or on a floor cushion.
We do not discriminate based on race, gender, background, age, religion, politics, sexual orientation, or otherwise — everyone is always welcome at MKBC and the other Centers around the world.
Our weekly classes are open to everyone. There is a talk, guided meditation, and time for questions. In these classes, you will learn breathing meditation and other forms of practical meditation that you can do at home throughout the week. We also have events & retreats and group prayer or puja's where we engage in chanted prayer and meditate together as a group. You are welcome to attend any of these programs. For those who wish to engage in a committed study program, we have more in-depth study program classes that are based on the systematic study of various Buddhist texts and which include prayers, meditation, and time for discussion. For those with Highest Yoga Tantra empowerment, we offer a Highest Yoga Tantra meditation class.
