About Us

Mahasiddha Kadampa Buddhist Center is a place to learn about and practice ancient Buddhist meditation techniques.  Everyone can benefit from meditation; you do not need to be a Buddhist to attend meditation classes at Mahasiddha.  We offer weekly classes open to anyone that you can drop in on any time, as well in-depth study programs for those interested in studying all of Buddha’s teachings.

Mahasiddha is a member of the International Kadampa Buddhist Union. Kadampa Buddhism is a Mahayana Buddhist school founded by the great Indian Buddhist Master Atisha (982-1054). His followers, known as Kadampas, integrate all of Buddha’s teachings into their meditation practice and use this wisdom and compassion to transform daily activities into the path to enlightenment. The New Kadampa Tradition

This center is a member of the New Kadampa Tradition – International Kadampa Buddhist Union (NKT-IKBU), an association of study and meditation centers founded by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.  These centers are dedicated to helping people everywhere find meaning and purpose in their lives, and to the developing of genuine inner peace and happiness.  There are 1100 Kadampa Centers and branches in 40 countries around the world.

The NKT is a Mahayana Buddhist tradition  that is derived from the Buddhist meditators and scholars Atisha and Je Tsongkhapa.

Rapidly growing, our Kadampa community is an international family, offering support, inspiration and encouragement for this joyful and profound spiritual path.

Practitioners of this tradition put Buddhism into practice in their daily life.  Putting Buddha’s teachings into practice in the context of our family and work commitments, we discover they are unsurpassed methods to resolve daily difficulties and problems.
