We offer a wide variety of weekly classes in Portland, Salem, Eugene, & Hawaii. These wonderful classes include guided meditation and practical teaching and are excellent for all levels.

Events & Retreats

Our Events & Retreats program includes beginners’ workshops, special one-time courses, and retreats that allow us to gain a rich experience of Buddha’s teachings and meditations.

Study Programs

For those wishing to go deeper by studying and practicing more systematically, MKBC offers the in-depth study programs, the Foundation Programs and Teacher Training Program.

We can solve our daily problems of stress, anxiety, anger, uncontrolled desire, confusion, jealousy, and so on, and find deep and lasting inner peace.

We can nurture our spiritual potential  by increasing our loving kindness and wisdom, and eventually attain full enlightenment!

And, by integrating these practical methods into our daily lives, we will not only enrich our own lives, but the lives of our families, communities, and world.

Who we are

Mahasiddha Kadampa Buddhist Center, a member of the New Kadampa Tradition, is a 501(c)3 non profit, volunteer run, member supported meditation center, founded by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, and dedicated to the happiness and freedom from suffering of every living being. 

Where do I start?

We offer drop-in meditation classes, day courses, retreats, and chanted prayers in Portland, Salem, Eugene, and Hawaii that are are suitable for beginners and experienced practitioners alike.

What can I expect?

A typical class—which can be taken individually or as a series—consists of a relaxing guided meditation, teachings based on the meditation topic, and a final meditation. 

What if I want to go deeper? 

We offer In-depth study programs, the Foundation Programs and the Teacher Training Program, for those wishing to study Buddha's teachings in a structured way with other dedicated students.

Yes! Consider becoming a member if you wish to take full advantage of our meditation classes and programs easily. We have multiple levels of memberships available.

Can I volunteer?

Absolutely! Volunteering at MKBC is such a rewarding and meaningful activity. The Center itself exists to benefit all living beings! Everyone is welcome to help in whatever capacity best fits their availability, wishes, and skills.
