Sunday Mornings in Portland
Prayers for World Peace
Meditation for Everyone - and Kids are Welcome!
These classes provide you with tools for dealing with problems, such as stress and fear, and replacing them with positive minds, such as patience and love.
Each class includes two guided meditations and a talk on how to use Buddha's teachings to find inner peace, chanted prayers, and an opportunity to ask questions. Although each class is taught as part of a series, it is also self-contained, so newcomers are always welcome.
Dharma for Kids
Kids' Class held at the same time as Prayers for World PeaceWhile parents enjoy meditation, kids explore spirtual themes. Activities include arts and crafts, story time, and spirtual topics. Parents are welcome to stay with their children or relax and enjoy the adult class inside the gompa.
It is very helpful for us to know how many children to expect at the kids' class, so if it all possible, we ask that you notify us a few days in advance when you expect to be bringing little ones. You can do this by emailing us at dharmaforkids@meditationinoregon.org, calling the center at 503 233 6747, or by specifying it on the class sign-up sheets on the bulletin board at the center. The information we're looking for is simply the number of children you plan to bring and any special needs they may have.
